Meet Matt

I’m a proud North Leawood native, raised near 93rd and Lee Court, and a product of our local schools: Corinth, Mission Valley, and Shawnee Mission East. After high school, I headed to Lawrence to attend the University of Kansas, where I joined the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and earned my bachelor’s degree in Anthropology.

After college, I gained valuable experience through sales and customer service roles across a range of industries, from dental and foodservice to oil & gas and railroads. These roles gave me a front-row seat to how businesses operate and ultimately inspired me to launch my own. In 2016, I founded Cuvée KC, a digital marketing firm built to support small businesses that need a strong digital presence without the big-agency price tag.

At Cuvée KC, we help clients develop professional websites, manage their social media content, and optimize their visibility through platforms like Google Business and Meta. My passion for continuous learning led me to earn a Digital Media & Marketing certificate from Duke University and to participate in the inaugural class of Leadership Leawood through the Leawood Chamber of Commerce. This fall, I’ll begin the next chapter in my education by pursuing my MBA at Southern Methodist University.

Community involvement has always been close to my heart. I currently serve on the Leawood Board of Zoning Appeals and the Historic Commission, both appointments unanimously approved by the governing body. I also chair the Leawood Economic Development Council and serve as Vice President and Architectural Review Committee Chairperson of the Leawood Homes Association, representing over 1,500 households. My wife, Lauren (also a Leawood native) and I bought our home at 92nd & Belinder in 2021 after a few years in Prairie Village. We love traveling, discovering new places, and spending time with our dog, Luna, who you’ve probably seen on walks through the neighborhood. A fun fact: my dad once held this very same city council seat, serving from 1995–1999 and again from 2004–2010. Seeing how much he loved serving this community inspired my own journey into civic involvement.

Leawood has always been home. It’s where I grew up, where we’ve chosen to raise our family, and it’s a community I’m proud to be a resident of. 💚
